Nevsky Avenue is the main street ofSt. Petersburg, which stretches for 4.5 km from Admiralteystvo to AlexanderNevsky Monastery. It crosses the River Moika, the Griboyedov Chanel, the Fontanka.Maximum width is 60 m (at the Gostiny Dvor), the lowest - 25 m (for washing).There are 240 buildings which face onNevsky Avenue. The right side is informally called the "shadow" andthe left - "Solar" (a popularplace for walking).
