Scotland is a country that is part of the UK. It covers the northern part of the island of Great Britain and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, North Sea, the North Channel and the Irish Sea. The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, though the largest city is Glasgow. The national symbols of Scotland are St. Andrew, a thistle (чертополох), a bagpipe (волынка), a kilt, haggis (блюдо) and their national animal is a unicorn, what is quite interesting. Of course, Scotland is famous for its national poet Robert Burns, theres even a holiday named after him. It is also surely famous for its beautiful landscape and lakes.
